I've made all the mistakes over the years so that you don't have to.

I WISH I HAD THIS COURSE MYSELF YEARS AGO WHEN I WAS STARTING OUT!

Join me for Teach Your Craft and start your own online education business - teaching your art to others

Why teach online art courses?

Online teaching is a wonderful experience for teacher and student alike. But here are some reasons why people like YOU teach their art in online course...

Reach people across the globe

You can teach people everywhere in the world (how awesome is that). When I first started teaching workshops in 2005 I could only reach those people in my local area. I now teach people in the UK, Europe, USA and even Australia!

Share knowledge effectively

One of the primary reasons artists teach online is to share their expert knowledge with others. By harnessing the power of online teaching you can explain the ins and outs of your craft and establish yourself as THE expert in your field.

Create the perfect lifestyle

With online courses you can plan, film and share your courses at almost any time of day. Whether you have a family schedule to work around, another job or days that work best - anything goes - you can shape the ideal lifestyle.

The joy of showing others your craft

If you love your art or craft, you can guarantee that others will too. And when you see the joy people gain from exploring the skills you have shared, and making beautiful things… it’s pure happiness!

No limits to student numbers

One great advantage of online teaching is the power of ‘make it once and sell it many times.’ Unlike with in-person classes there are almost no limits on how many people can take your online courses.

Build a community of creatives

One of the TOP benefits in online teaching is connecting with the other creative humans out there. My own sketching membership for example is a joyous community of positive and inspiring people.

A powerful income stream

Teaching online courses can be a great way to diversify your current income streams and essentially make more profit from your already existing expertise. What’s not to love about that?!

Serve your current fans

Online education provides a well-needed service for your current audience. If they already LOVE your art, then many of your fans are sure to LOVE your courses too.

Create truly great content

Online teaching gives the ability to structure truly GREAT content that can be delivered all at once or drip-fed on a daily basis. There is nothing better than this regarding career in art education.

Here are examples of some of my own courses

I have shared over 35 online courses plus online challenges and a sketching membership all shared via my own website and course portal.  I have delivered guest teaching for other artists, as part of art bundles and on platforms such as Skillshare and Udemy.

Here are just a few examples of my own courses and course types. Do browse my website to see what else I currently teach and have available!

Short Courses

Short courses are a great way to package your skills into an affordable online educational offering. I have shared a HUGE amount of online courses over the years starting from just £14.99

The Inspire Membership

Creating a monthly membership is a great way to earn a regular monthly income from your skills. Students pay a regular monthly fee for access to content that you create. Launching my own membership was the BIGGEST positive change in my business by far.

Specialist Online Courses

Taking a deeper dive into teaching, specialist or signature courses are the perfect way to share your skills. Students will gain a huge amount of knowledge in this format. Many of my online courses work in this way starting from around £65.

FREE Online Challenges & Courses

As a way for curious creatives to get to know you, offering your teachings as free challenges, courses or even a YouTube channel is the perfect way to get started with teaching you craft. My business moved to a full-time business through the development of my annual 30-Day Sketchbook Challenge.

Frequently asked questions

You’ve got questions. I’ve got answers.

How does it work?

Teach Your Craft is a 6-week programme with modules that will drip-feed into an online portal each week. As soon as you enrol you get access to the portal along with the 'pre-course' homework. All students then begin the course together at the next available start date.

Accompanying the video tutorials you gain access to private Facebook Group for those of you all working through the programme together, downloadable worksheets and practical homework and assignments.

What if I can't keep up with the 6-week programme?

Although this course is delivered over 6 weeks, I understand that life can get in the way. You have ongoing access to the course content for as long as you need it. You can then pace yourself and work to a timescale that is realistic for you and launch your course when it suits.

The Facebook group will remain active after the 6-weeks has ended for community support and guidance.

What tools and materials do I need?

To get started you will need a computer with access to the internet to access the video tutorials and live sessions. A Facebook account is also helpful to access the support community element.

Once you start creating your online course you will also need:

- A camera for filming (this could be your smart phone),
- Video editing software (e.g. iMovie which is FREE to apple users)
- The tools and materials of your craft i.e. all the things you need to teach demonstrations
- A microphone (again your smartphone can do the job)

Most importantly you need a can-do attitude and an open mind to try new ways of working as we shape your online course.

What if I decide this course isn't for me?

No problems! On all my online courses and programs I offer a 14-day money back guarantee. Once you start the course you have 14 days to change your mind. I will be sad to see you go but understand that this intensive programme isn't for everyone.

I am terrified of being on camera! Can I still do this course?

Absolutely. In fact, this course will help you both build in confidence to try filming on camera but also provide alternatives to filing in a face-to-face way. I will even show you some of the first appearances I made on camera... :)
