Welcome to the Course!

Hello and a huge welcome to this online course all about learning the basics of block printing and stamping.

My name is Susan and I am your course tutor and I am so excited that you have chosen to join me here. I love block printing and I spend loads of my time here in my home studio making prints!

Block printing is a process I find really easy to fit into my day and accessible for everyone. Easier because the block is softer to carve, and more convenient because I use ink pads to print (no messy clean up!) Therefore block printing is super quick and easy and the results are soooo pleasing. Since the start of 2021 I have been producing a new block print every day - that's how quick and fun this is.

I can't wait to share all this with you!

The image below pictures me in my home studio where all of this course has been created and filmed...

This course aims to teach you everything that you would need to know about getting started with block printing. I cover the whole process in detail from coming up with designs, to cutting the block and using ink pads to print. Plus I also include plenty of top tips.

Video: Welcome and Introduction

In the video above I welcome you into the course!

I would recommend working through the course in the order that it is presented to you as it is structured in a logical and progressive manner, i.e. each section builds upon the content and knowledge of the previous one.

Comments

At the bottom of each section of this course portal there is a comments section. Feel free to use this section to ask questions, make comments and share your progress throughout. You can upload pictures (one at a time) as well as write text.

This will be seen by both myself (Susan) and other students of the course. This way we all get to connect and share the experience of the course together.

See you soon...
